In addition to sharing his knowledge of real estate, John loves to share his knowledge of the sky, clouds and the beauty of flight. Since his work in real estate takes up most of his weekend you can experience first hand a Sailplane Ride - You will sit in the front seat to enjoy the view while John, an FAA Certified Commercial Glider Pilot, sits in the back seat of the dual control sailplane. The glider will be towed by a powerful tow plane, to 3000 feet before releasing. After the glider is released from the tow plane, the glider remains fully controllable and your flight will last from 20 minutes to as much as two hours or more; although John can land the glider at any time you wish.

It takes a combination of the right conditions and skill to extend a flight beyond about 20 minutes. If conditions permit, you could enjoy as much as a couple of hours soaring fun. John loves to soar and he will be most happy to introduce you to a thermal soaring. Additionally you will learn what it is like to follow the tow plane in formation flight; make turns in the sky using your rudder and aileron controls, all while enjoying a spectacular view of the sky and the South Carolina countryside.

Plan to make the approximate 1 hour 10 minute drive from Charlotte with John, leaving around 10:30 am. You should plan on returning to Charlotte as late as about 5:00 pm (days with shorter flights will return earlier).
